Live and let your plants live!

You are a Gardener and love plants more than your favorite food. But sometimes stuck on how to maintain it. Or you are a Newbie to Gardening. Here is a small guide to win in this Green game!

Let me start this Article with a personal story here. We had a vast garden in the yard with more than 20 different types of plants and trees in between. Till today, I'm proud of the small group of greenish Banana plantations with long leaves and a handful of sweet Bananas! We used every part of a Banana tree and cooked delicious curries! (Mmm... I'm drooling...)

My Amma is the creator of this paradise. She enquired of everyone if they had a different or special plant, and she made sure that the small branch would be planted in our garden ASAP. The pots were hanging above, which had little flowers and green bushes.

The flowers in the garden were: Hibiscus, Rose, Jasmine, Yellow Allamanda (Golden trumpet or Mitaayi hoovu in Kannada), West Indian Jasmine (Ixora), Butterfly Pea (Shankhapushpi), White garland lily (Sugandhi), Night blooming jasmine (Raatri Raani in Kannada), Pinwheel (Nandi battalu). The Jasmine itself had more than 5 varieties. It was a fair of flowers! Between that, there was Green chili, Ginger, Ivy gourd, and Malabar Spinach. This is a small Intro to the big garden.

During the renovation of the house, the garden didn't have any choice but to remain in our memory. The cement plasters filled the space of the garden. My Amma has to think of Plan B!

The pots were small and fewer. And the muddy space for planting was also less. Plan B was initiated immediately. That was a simple idea of turning plastic bottles and covers into pots. It's low-cost and easy to maintain!

This is not at all suitable for the long term, but it's an easy idea. The bottle has been cut in the middle to be filled with mud for planting. That's how the garden stood up again. The cement bags were turned into pots, and we used Vegetable grow bags. When you have a small space and have plants that don't grow much, this plastic bottle and bag idea is suitable. The plants we have inside the bags and bottles aren't going to grow into trees. So this idea worked here. The end of the story.

Gardening is an Art. It needs love, care, and consistency with water and sunlight. These are basic needs for every plant. The additional is fertilizers.

Now, gardening has been turned into a hobby (actually a good one to have). The easiest way to contribute to the environment. The simple way to keep your plants alive is to feed them water and chemical-free fertilizers.

The environment-friendly fertilizer is already in your kitchen. That is vegetable and fruit peelings, coffee grounds, and egg shells. You can even bury these and leftover foods in soil to get rich compost. This kitchen waste is not a waste after all. It's your garden's best friend! Simple care and time are needed to grow the garden.

Roof gardening is in trend. It's a cute spot for your plants if you make the proper arrangements. The above-mentioned tips are also useful here. The difference is only the place. There are indoor plants, Bonsai, and a whole lot of varieties that can be raised inside the house with less sunlight.

Having your garden is the best way to contribute to the environment. Use chemical-free fertilizer and love them.

Last note: You have to have a mindset to grow the plants, not a big space.
